Goodbye Chapstick…

It’s been in the 80’s for the past 3 days, and the weatherman says, “no more winter”! My lips are plumping up as I type! (Note to self, need facial moisturizer with SPF 30)

Someone left the cake out in the rain…

I took one of the 7 dwarfs (actually a dear friend) to the beach on Saturday. I thought I was taking “Happy”, but as it turned out, I had “Grumpy” with me. It was a bright, sunny, 72 degrees (F.), with a nice cool breeze. Perfect weather!

“Happy” wanted to go to Smyrna Dunes Park, which is the only dog friendly beach within a 100 miles of us. Not that she planned to take her dogs there; she just wanted to check it out. I reminded her that the only way to get there was to take the causeway over to New Smyrna Beach.

The causeway would mean bumper to bumper traffic. Plus, if you manage to get to the park, you’re on the river side of the little peninsula and would have to walk about a mile to get to the Atlantic side. Walking, doesn’t make “Happy”, happy; bad knees…

New Smyrna Beach is just south of Daytona, where…

Once “Happy” considered the throngs of people between her and her destination, she chose to reconsider her adventure. Basically, she told me to figure out where we could go, because it was too nice to sit at home when the weather was beautiful.

I chose to drive us to a more accessible beach at Port Canaveral. There are plenty of restaurants, and a multitude of deep sea fishing boats that go out of the port, people fishing, as well as cruise ship terminals, e.g. Disney, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, etc. If you’re into T-shirts, Ron Jon’s has a store at Jetty Park, which is on the beach side of the port.

Once we arrived at the Port, “Grumpy” appeared. I don’t think my friend really appreciated being at the beach. She mentioned that her idea of a fun outing would be walking on a nature trail in the woods. Go figure… that’s when the cake started melting.

Fish cleaning table. Before you toss the carcass, you poke the fish eyes to prevent the carcass from floating to the surface (decomposing gas builds up in eyes). Usually, the pelicans take care of it anyway.

Gearing up for an alien sighting…

How do you like my night vision goggles? Mom says the aliens are due for a visit this month, so we’re gearing up. Stay tuned…

Finally! Mother Nature is back on the job!

I think Mother Nature took a holiday and left the ‘old man’ in charge. It’s been trying to rain for 4 days with no resulting moisture. It reminds me of an old man elderly gentleman with prostatitis. He has the urge to ‘go’ but can’t get his stream started. Today, we got RAIN! Thanks Mother Nature!

I started to wash my car this morning, to sorta help the old man out, but I lost interest when the sun peeked out from behind the dark, ominous clouds that have been hanging around since Thursday.

As soon as it started to rain (late afternoon), Whitedog woofed to go outside. Stands to reason!

If you've been praying for rain, you can stop now!

I’ve been running in my sleep again…

I went for a run this morning…in my sleep… I think. I’ve been running or jogging in my sleep for a long time now. The best part about sleep running is I’m not winded and there’s no pain in my knees or feet. I think this is a recurring dream, probably from days of yore when I did run. However, I have to wonder, my calves and hamstrings are tight and achy today. My neighbor, DotVadar, is a sleep walker. Her husband has been awakened on many occasions when he heard her get up in the night and open the front door. He’s had to fetch her back to bed, of which she has no memory. I wonder if DotV and I have been working out together in the wee hours of the morning?

This was my birthday weekend. I made it a 4 day weekend and don’t have to return to work until tomorrow. I took a break from the “Y” (MCA) and haven’t lifted an elephant since last Wednesday. What I HAVE done is dig up the yard and plant annuals. Our risk of ‘freeze’ is over and the trees have started putting on new green leaves. Since the time change, I have extra daylight to ride my bike after work and the “Y”. I love spring! It’s so invigorating! My regrets to those still snowed in 😦

Hey! It was a short month!
