And they call it puppy love ♫

Remy got to see his brother and sisters at the dog show (Central Florida Kennel Club) in Orlando this past weekend. His breeder came up from Venice (FL) with his siblings and we spent three days catching up and herding a pack of Pyrs. If you’ve ever done a horse show or a dog show, there are some similarities, especially the competitive atmosphere and vendors selling their wares. The biggest differences are dog shows mainly take place inside with the benefit of air-conditioning, while horse shows usually take place outside; even if the arena is covered, it is hot, hot, hot! The summer solstice pushed our heat index up to 110 degrees (43 C) on Sunday due to the insufferable humidity.

These puppies don’t look like they’re suffering from the heat! They were cool as cucumbers in the AC, and busy reacquainting themselves (sniff, sniff)

Just like children, the puppies tend to resemble their parents. Iceman and Chantilly look like their mother, while Remy and Cee Cee look like their dad. Also, the girls are much more petite at this age. The boys are currently 90 lbs, with 9 more months until they mature. They’ll top out at around 120-140 lbs.

  1. Hi Clowie, my mom said she forgets that petite Pyrs are still bigger than most doggies. She said I still have some jowls to grow into, but she hopes I slow down soon!
